Welcome to Baltimore County Public Schools!
We are using an equity lens to transform teaching and learning to align with the evolving needs of our students and society. Through Students and Teachers Accessing Tomorrow (S.T.A.T.), our schools are more learner-centered, and curriculum and instruction are focused on strengthening students’ 21st century skills in critical thinking, innovation, collaboration, and communication.
A group of students actually proposed the name “S.T.A.T.” They wanted to convey that our focus is on preparing them for tomorrow, and they wanted to convey the urgency of this work.
Now that S.T.A.T. is just part of how we do business, we are deepening supports to prepare students for college and career, always focused on meeting individual student needs, and using technology when appropriate. This year, schools are embracing a focus on literacy across the subject areas and positive school climates where all students can thrive.
